Last Friday was the fourth North Dorset Business Day in Sturminster Newton. It doesn’t sound like much but for a rural area like ours it is important to know the council cares about the small businesses in the area. Run by the soon to be extinct North Dorset District Council, it is great chance to meet up with others from the SME community in North Dorset.
As part of this community it gave us great pleasure to be so involved in the production of the day. This included the filming and production of a promotional event for next year as well as photographs of the day. These services were provided as part of a contract with North Dorset District Council and we are really looking forward to seeing the results as soon as they have been edited and are ready to go. The first part of this involved an interview by James with the MP for North Dorset, Simon Hoare. Quite good fun considering we are in the middle of Brexit and he is one of the leading figureheads of May’s government.
There were a couple of talks from our friends at Dorset Growth Hub on grant funding and how to grow your business digitally. Plus lots of opportunity to network with both exhibitors and visitors to the show. Food was supplied by the wonderful Sweet Pea Cafe in Sturminster and I think we all agree the food here is the best at any business show including those at Olympia or Excel. So thank you to Sweet Pea for that.
Photographs and the video of the day will be ready in the next week, if you want to see them, please give us a call.
